Advocating in IEP Meetings
A consultation will consist of you filling out a quick survey and a 15 minute conversation via phone. After reviewing the answers from the questionnaire, I will then check the time that you selected for the consultation and give you a call. Please know that all calls will be made as close to the consultation time as possible. The 15 minute time frame is more flexible after a commitment to a service.
This service is a great way to get the thoughts and feedback on an IEP from an advocate without having the advocate present in the meeting. We will start with a consultation and see what is the best course of action for your situation. The notes will be taken via google doc and shared with you. This service is specific to Abed Advocacy and we are the first to offer it! *This service is great for anyone who may be outside of the driving radius*
Advocating in IEP meetings entails: Consulting with the family prior to the meeting to prepare, as well the time that the meeting requires. Attending the meeting in person, with the family of the student. Taking lead on the concerns that the family may have and advocating for what is in the best interest of the student. Notes will be taken at meetings as well that will be shared with parents.
